Advantages of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF)
-ICF Save time and Cost related to labour
-Insulated Concrete Forms offer higher level of energy efficiency
-Optimal curing environment for the concrete in ICF and thus stronger than conventional concrete
-Fire testing shows ICF drastically superior compared to conventional stick frame structures
-On average an ICF wall is constructed with R-25 insulation, however because of three factors: 1) Expanded polystyrene 2)Thermal stability of wall 3)Suppression of Air Leakage, ICF walls perform as high as an R-40, R-50
-Energy savings of 20% or more
Disadvantages of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF)
-Slightly higher Cost
-Thicker walls on average 12″ take up more living space than a 6″ stick framed wall
